Mimosa Lane Vintage Project One

I totally understand the thrill of finding treasures while thrifting! That initial spark of excitement when you spot something unique can be so motivating. But then, yes, the reality of all the work to turn it into what you envision often causes that enthusiasm to fade. I’m sure there are a lot of creatives who can relate to that—having piles of unfinished projects, thousands of pins on Pinterest, barns and storage buildings full of items just waiting to get a new life. I’ve got a beautiful idea for this antique china cabinet! A distressed white look, paired with all your crystal containers for bath salts and bubble bath, would give it such a charming, personal touch. It’s easy to see the potential, but the “next steps” can sometimes feel like a lot to tackle.

Do you feel where I’m coming from?

What is it  that makes those next steps so difficult for me? Is it the prep work, like fixing the chipped veneer, or just the time it takes to get everything just right? Maybe breaking it down into smaller tasks would help ease the process. Or, if you’re feeling stuck, sometimes just starting with one tiny thing—like prepping a small section—can help you push through.

Well, to be honest, I love finding old furniture cheap, envisioning in my head how I will restore the chair or tables. I love using Fusion Mineral Paints and Products. I love it so much that I sell them, but what I don’t like is the prep work. I will buy a piece of furniture at a great price. I will pour over Pinterest and magazines trying to figure out just what color I want, what I want to use it for, where it will be kept, and how I will display it!  Then it sits and sits and sits.

Here are some of the Products I use for getting the piece ready to paint! I don’t know what creator shared “Mask and Peel” with me, but it’s a great product. It took me about 15 minutes to paint the Mask and Peel on all the glass. Can you imagine how long it would take if I were taping it?
