Mimosa Lane Vintage Furniture

Have you ever wondered why landscapers and gardeners don’t seem to like mimosa trees? Do you think they’re just being tree snobs? Personally, I love my mimosa trees! They sprout up anywhere in the yard and grow tall so quickly. Their powder-puff, fluffy, and fragrant pink blossoms attract bees and butterflies during the spring and throughout the hot Louisiana summer. The fern-like leaves create a large, open canopy, providing plenty of shade.

At the end of the flowering season, pods develop that resemble beans. I have fond childhood memories of picking the pods and pretending to cook them in my mud pie kitchen. The tree has a relatively small trunk, but its graceful, rounded shape at the top creates a broad, spreading canopy of shade.

I’ve named my line of restored furniture “Mimosa Lane” because of their unique beauty. Some of the pieces I restore are often overlooked just like the Mimosa tree. But if you look past the imperfections, you can truly appreciate their beauty in the end!
